    The national flag of Scotland (Bratach na h-Alba) is a white saltire (diagonal cross) on a blue field. The Flag of Scotland is also called 'The Saltire' or 'St Andrew's Cross', as it represents Saint Andrew, who is supposed to have been crucified on a diagonal cross. Saint Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland. The saltire first appeared in the Kingdom of Scotland in 1180 during the reign of William I
